I find it funny that people flush toilets with their foot.
For one, do these people not wash their hands afterwards or something?
For two, I wonder if they ever stop to think that even though they use their foot to flush the toilet, thus avoiding any germs from the flusher, they then use their hand to unlock the stall door, which many hands before have touched AFTER touching the flusher?

as a 'foot flusher' i can tell you that i try to avoid public washrooms altogether but having kids, i sometimes have to break down and go into one.
i open the door with my foot if i can..use my shirt to cover my hand if i can't. grab paper towel on my way in..use foot or elbow to push/pull open stall door..squat..lol..never sit..hold kids over toilet..flush with foot..use paper towel to unlock door..don't wash hands..use same paper twoel to open door..once outside i use hand sanitizer to clean our hands.
i think i'll go wash mt hands right now..feel dirty just thinking about a public washroom
I hate public washrooms, too, but how do you open the door with your foot?
I mean, the lock?
I use a paper towel to open the doors.

And so you avoid germs. Good
You also avoid immunities. Bad.
But why avoid it so much when you are washing your hands right after, anyway?

I have been in the mens room while guys have pee'd all over the flushers on both urinals and toilets. For me that is more than enough of a good reason to foot flush.

Womens bathrooms are more disgusting than mens. Ask any sanitation engineer and they will tell you.

im a foot flusher. actually, its not that i dont want to touch the handle as much as i dont want to put my face into the toilet bowl to reach over and flush. then, in industrial bathrooms the force of the flush pushes all the bateria into the air and we are breathing it in. i know we do anyway, its just the thought that makes me gag. i also dont lock the door handles so i dont have to touch them, and if i do, i use a piece of toilet paper to do it. i also use paper towel for the taps and the handles of the door out. i hate it when they use air blowers instead of paper towels. if i have to open the door without paper towels i will use my shirt.
public washrooms are horrible and gross and disgusting though sometimes necassary. oh, and my purse never touches the floor or counter.

Most people don't wash their hands properly after using a public washroom. They do it too fast, and touching the taps and door when they leave negates the result anyway. I'd rather just not touch anything and not wash my hands. I too am a foot flusher, and I cover my hands when touching anything. Hand sanitizer outside the door is best I would think.

LOL at the germophobes!!! I take standard precautions when using public facilities but I don't go crazy. And I can honestly tell you that I NEVER get sick. I'm not a fastidious handwasher nor do I carry wipes or hand sanitizer. I just wash my hands when it would be reasonable to, and that's it. Many bacteria are harmless and normal. The more we try and sanitize the less chance we give our bodies to fight off germs on it's own, which it was built to do.

I'm totally with kitka on this one! I hate the idea of the force of the water spattering the bacteria up into my face. The bacteria can travel up to 40 feet.........please don't ask, I learned it at a blood-borne pathogens course.
I am a germaphobe and I'm ok with that. I'm more grossed out at handles on grocery carts and doors though. I think that washrooms should be designed with ease of use so that after you wash your hands, you don't have to worry about opening a dirty door with a clean hand.
And away with blowers, they are just gross and time consuming.
I will share my food with my pets and not freak but I can't handle other peoples germs because I think about MRSA and all the other goodies that are so easily transmittable.

I try not to touch much in public washrooms. Too many people have poor hygiene practices in public washrooms.
Drop a toonie in the urinal...do you think anyone would go after it?:teeth:

I don't know of any guy that is grossed out by his own pee, as much as he is grossed out by others pee.
My suggestion is, to pee on the toonie, then grab it. Then wash your hands. And give it to the Tim Hortons Girl.
Next time you have a toonie in your hand, remember this story, I have done it. Could it be your toonie?

this really is true, when i worked at one of the bigger local stores, it was the women's washroom that always had the **** smeared all over the walls, and the tampons clogged in the toilet, overflowing them...etc etc i could go on and on, but yes, womens are definately far far worse
