One of our own has suffered from a heart attack and is in the hospital recovering. Apparently, he has asked for his laptop to keep on top of thing, .... Let's all wish him well and let him know the SooNet community needs him back.

Good luck Craig ....

As a former coronary care nurse, I have one main thing to say......BEHAVE YOURSELF!!! Follow orders and do what you're told....the recovery process goes much better.

Keeping you in my prayers for a speedy and full recovery.

Chixy, i'll call the city and the police, let them know you don't have a permit, then I'll rush down with a camera, and take a picture for you ok? :)

Remember that all true wealth is biological.

Rest. Don't go to work to quick. And do what they tell you. And rest.

Do like the doctors and nurses tell you.
Behave.
Rest and recuperate.
Did I mention behave?

I don't know you well, but have known you since the days of the tv station when Dad worked there.

Thoughts are with you.

For everyone else, new article on Soonews, by Craig.

You know what's funny?, everyone is telling me to relax but the hospital is the last place a person can get some rest...between the stuffy non air conditioned rooms, the loud noises on the floor...it's more stressful than restful....that's just my opinion though....I would be better off at home in bed - peace and quiet....and no stress....

I hear ya!!! I've only had 3 hospital stays in my life, all during my time as a nurse. My body and mind responded to all the sounds and activity as my nurse "personna" was trained and ingrained to do. I was so tense all the time and barely got any sleep so I'm sure I would have recovered better at home.

My older brother had to have a heart operation, of course he was scared poopless, he said other then the day after the operation it was not too bad, within 2 weeks he was back to his normal self and is so glad he had it done as he feels great, Oh did I mention he is 70!!

And I notice you have mentioned STRESS over and over again saying you donít feel stressed, I think you should think about that, from the sound of your letter I dare to say you are stressed to the max and you just donít realize itÖ.Good Luck

Don't know if you all have been reading it, but if you haven't go read Craigs article/blog about his experience. Very very interesting and educational, Craig's discription of the feelings and pain - really important. Great work Craig and get well soon

Craig - thanks so much for posting this blog. You're an excellent writer to be sure, but the material itself is invaluable and I expect will probably save someone's life at some point (maybe even mine!). I don't know you at all, but my sister does and I know she's got a lot of respect for you, which I have learned in recent months is very well justified.

Please take good care and get well soon.

Well my mother aka Light_Keeper had a heart attack yesterday and is in critical care. Seems to have been a rotten summer for heart attacks.
Hope you're doing well Craig.

P.S.

Ma03 she wanted me to tell you that she doesn't think she'll be able to pick up the things she was going to get from you this week. Not really sure what she was talking about as they have her pretty drugged up. But I told her I would pass the message on to you.

ThanksTippi, tell her I wish her the best. Sure has been a bad summer for heart issues for you! I'll keep her in my thoughts. As for the thing she was talking about tell her I'll hold on to it till she's ready.

Craig......thanks for writting your story. I am sure you are helping many people. I didn't have a heart attack but vertigo which is very scary. I followed your story because mine is a bit similar. They started an IV too..........can't wait for the next part 3.

The "Nah, it can't be" in the early stages of a heart attack is probably the one thing that leads to massive heart attacks and even death. Believe me, nurses and doctors in ER and the paramedics arriving in the ambulance would much rather deal with you when it is "just a heavy feeling in my arm" or such. Keep telling the story, Craig. You're doing an invaluable service.

Hope your mom is is on the road to recovery, Tippi. I'll hold her in my thoughts and prayers.
