Yet once again the animal is acting up :
At approximately 10 p.m. last night City Police attended at a local hotel and arrested a 30-year-old male.
The accused Paul Jeffrey Whalen, age 30 of no fixed address, was arrested for two warrants - dating to March 2007 and May 2007.
The March warrant was for breach of probation.
The May warrant was for the offences of point a firearm, assault with a weapon and use of a firearm while committing an offence.
The accused was further charged with one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, one count of possession of a firearm contrary to order, one count of dangerous driving, one count of flight from police and one count of possession of a substance.
It is alleged that on July 12 at approximately 3:40 a.m. the accused Paul Whalen was observed driving a motor vehicle in the area of Summit Avenue.
When police attempted to stop the vehicle the accused [allegedly] drove in a dangerous manner and fled from police.
The vehicle was eventually located on Summit Avenue and one female occupant was arrested.
The accused Whalen had fled on foot from the scene.
At the time of the offence police located a quantity of cocaine, a semi-automatic handgun and several large knives.

I don't know why they can't put this guy away for good.Assault, guns, drugs, stealing breaking probation numerouse times. If they aren't going to do anything or if the courts won't let them. Let him run around until he kills someone. Cause he will someday.

might be a stupid question but who's he related to, because if he wasn't he'd been in jail a very long time ago.

What does this have to do with police???? They aren't the ones that sentence people. Do you honestly think they are not frustrated as well???
The police have little to do with whether or not an individual serves time. The court system / judges determines what kind of sentence he will get.
THe thing to remember is that while hes a lowlife, they havent' proven that hes seriously hurt anyone have they? He hasnt' killed anyone, or shot anyone that has been proven.
The majority of his crimes are not (in the real sense of the word) Violent. While I'm sure that the majority of people in the Sault want him in jail, the courts MUST have a valid reason for putting him in jail for a period of time. The system has limits to the time that people serve for the crimes that they have committed.
I think it sucks, People like that should have the 3 strike rule against them - bye bye!
I have a jerk in my neighbourhood the same, while his crimes don't / havent' involved guns - they're mostly break and enter and theft related. It still makes ya mad when you see him back out on the streets - knowing full well that it will only be a matter of a week or two before the break ins start again.

I realize that the cops dont sentence people .A few prosecutors and lawyers are friends, if a lawyer and the prosecutors at the time are good buddys and the laywer wants to look good and win his cases he ll have his good old buddy the prosecutors help keep him out of jail. It has happened, and will continue to happen. example, true story as well, 2 people up on the same charge, one does not have a record besides that charge she is up on, the other guy has a record longer then his leg plus a outstanding warrant in another city, both have diff lawyers, has laywer is friends with the prosecutors for the case, the other girl s lawyer is not friends with him, she goes to jail for a week, he walks away with a 500 dollar fine. wheres the justice in that?

you're right he should be happy he's not in the States or all he'd have to look forward to for the rest of his life would be night time where he'd be Bubba's boy toy.

What does that have to do with your comment that cops are corrupt?
Which in my opinion would be pretty good treatment for him all points considered. /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Whalen is a paid informer.

Plus was he not one of the ones involved in that beating by the Verdi a few years back(I can't remember if that guy died or not). The cops are as frustrated as the citizens are.My mom had a scanner and remembered hearing the "chatter" on there when he was going to be turning 12(?)and could finally be charged and again when he was turning 18 and could be charged as an adult.
If I were a cop,I'd be saying my prayers that,in the very near future,he would do something so I could just shoot him and be done with it since the court system won't.I'm sorry, that sounds harsh but I can't even begin to imagine their sense of frustration-they've been dealing with this fool for 20 years or so since he started REALLY young of getting in trouble.
He is a prime example of why I have little respect for defence attorneys and the justice system as a whole.

I was starting to wonder but thanks for ending my doubts about it. You have lost grasp of reality ,thank God you aren't a cop as there are enough wacos out there now with guns.
