It's that time of year again, hoping everyone posts pictures of their pumpkins.

Here are the two we did last year and then the two we did this year for our kids.

First time posting here... Hope this works. My wife and I have been carving pumpkins for the last few years, even though we don't have any kids yet. We do it just for the fun of it, and the kids that come to the house seem to enjoy them.

This is the one I did this year:

This is all three of ours from this year:

Feel free to check out my flickr photostream at http://www.flickr.com/bjotoole to see some of my landscape photographs. I'll try to post some of them from time to time.

do you use stencils? or is it freehand?

Thanks Peety... My wife carved that one.

H.E. Pennypacker - Not sure if you're asking me, or the op, but for me it's a mix of stencils, reference photos, and freehand. Stencils were used for the witch, spider and mummy, and reference photos were used to freehand the faces on the other ones. I used a Sharpy to outline how the teeth are going to be, and just started cutting with a small swiss army knife.
