Aren't the Pony Club and some stables right there on Black Road? I know they are very close to Strathclair.

Yes, it's the Black Road stable's race track. If you go to the next driveway on the right, just past Black Road Veterinary, that's where the stables and track are. They train harness horses there.

In case some of you are too young to know, they used to have a track and stables at the Queen Elizabeth park, near where John Rodes pool is now.

That is the driveway in which I did a... maybe an 18-point turn?

New Driver + Narrow Road + Big Ditches + No Power Steering = 18 point turn!

I remember the stables and Race track at Queen E park. It was great to watch. It was closer to Wellinton street is The stable anyway and the track was around the same area on the niorth side of the park. We should ask Craig Huckerby He lived across the street from Queen E park By Lou's Esso

Actually I grew up in that area. There were two very old barns when I was little, they were torn down and the newer barn was built up near Lou's.
The track was in the same place all along, almost in the center of the block, with the long sides running north-south.
QE field existed of just a track with a field surrounding it. There was even a small forested area on the south end.

Hmm, I think I went to school with Craig's older brother.

I remember when the bug labs weren't there at the bottom of Elizabeth St, and it was just a junky piece of land where the city used to dump old pavement.
