wow great, really helpful, however if one would do proper research before posting, it could be an external USB, or a standard PCI card, and believe it or not , the model number would distinguish that.
but again, thanks for the wonderfully useful and well thought out responses....

so why not be clear in what your asking then , if you want to know if it's external, ask that and quit being a dink about it when someone tries to give you an answer
BTW, i'm 99% sure that he woulda stated external if it was

I wasn't being a dink, I was asking a legitimate question to a seller about the specifics of an item that he is selling, and I got 2 responses from people that weren't selling it, with incorrect assumptions about the product and my question. I thought I was clear, I wanted the product number which would tell me exactly, and without any ambiguity, what the item was, and in case there were other models of that that I am not aware of (even after my research it is possible I missed something)
All that being said, I do agree with you that it is probably the internal one and the one that I am looking for. I do apologize if I seemed inconsiderate of your feelings about your attempted response to my question directed at someone else...

we were trying to help you out, you asked the model we pointed it out, you never know how long it will take to get a response from someone on here (i've gone as long as 2 weeks before waiting) but for $20 I'm sure it's safe to assume that the item is a PCI card.
Great card BTW i have 2 of them in 2 of my systems and they sound great (unless your'e running vista then you only get 2 channel sound and theres no drivers available

It's a PCI card. If you still need the exact model number to look up other specs and info you'll have to wait until later today because I'm at work right now. If I have time at lunch I'll get the number for you. Otherwise it won't be until this evening.
Thanks

absolutely, and no Vista (never an MS OS until minimum the first service pack is released), running XP pro, and dual booting with Linux, so I'm sure it will be a much better card than my on board.
thanks for the info.
