I support that decision as well. Foster parents said the officers would have done more damage trying to subdue the child. Has anyone ever tried a TENS unit? at 240v+ that can take over your muscles, and this is used for therapeutic reasons. The kid had a pipe swining it around.

I'm in agreement just looking for DQ and his cohorts to get all indignant and demand a public crucifiction of the cop, AGAIN!

Again, unless the kid weighed 180 pounds and was built like a linebacker, there would have been other ways of subduing him. This is starting to be a habit.

He had a weapon, and it could really hurt someone, I support this act... It's not like he was just throwing a temper tantrum unarmed and not wanting to take a shower...

DQ, you start switching directions that way and you are gonna strip some gears.

Blue did you watch the WHOLE thing. An armed ten year old and you think they went too far. Gawd Almighty man you must be bigger and stronger than you look if you are willing to go man on man with the snot.

I'm not switching any directions. I am all for tasers... when used appropriately. This kid presented himself to be not only aggressive, but also a danger to anyone around him. He had a weapon and exhibited that he was very willing to use it. The police officer subdued the dangerous person. This is in no way similar to a child that is not listening and didn't want to take a shower. or a frustrated person who could not speak English in an airport

As with the other taser story, I strongly agree with the police actions that were taken. A boy swinging a 2 foot pipe can be very dangerous to himself and others. I believe that tasers are a better resort than physically tackling the kid, possibly causing more harm than a short burst of electricity.

I was all prepared to have a smart-*** response too, but found to my disappointment that I had no option but to admit that I agree with the use of a taser in this particular case.

Why don't cops use something like a big weighted net to toss over the kids and then grab them. That might be just as effective and not get them bad press. Or haw about a pole with a noose like they use to catch animals, .... snag the kid by the leg and drag him away.

Using a taser is a 50/50 call. Personally, I would just jump the kid and take my chances.

I guarantee this kid is going to think twice about not following a cop's direction.
