I think this is the perfect winter. No slush...skating rinks in great shape...sunny days..fresh air...people out and about...great for the ski hills...bare roads. I am really enjoying this winter.

I like this winter so far too. Not too much snow but sure has been darn cold. BTW what happened to all the weather predictors who said it was supposed to be the snowiest winter in 100 years?

Yep. But in reality the rest of North America seems to be getting hit with this - meanwhile we seem to be in a protective bubble....I mean even a short distance away to our south has been hit with the worst winter in decades so....

Once they realized the earth wasn't warming as expected, they changed the format to climate change. Come on, keep up :) We are changing the earth's climate.

You're right Craig.
As much as our weather is nondescript, the rest have had quite a time.
A lot of records fell this year!

I am loving it! I have nothing at all to complain about. I don't like the cold much but better than snow storms!!! *knock on wood*

We know a couple of snowbirds that head to Florida every fall for the winter. In his emails he sends he's not enjoying the cold temperatures down there at all and claims his golf game is suffering because of it! LOL....his wife is kicking his butt from the sounds of things!

I enjoy winter when it's not freezing cold all the time, I can handle the weather we've been having....Quebec can keep all their snow they got too!:shade:

Australian city's hottest night in 108 years

SYDNEY The Australian city of Melbourne has sweltered through its hottest night since 1902, with temperatures topping 34 degrees Celsius (93 degrees Fahrenheit), meteorologists said Tuesday.

Millions tossed and turned in the overnight heat in Australia's second city, with power cuts exacerbating the problem in some areas and some people even resorted to nocturnal trips to the beach to cool off.

"It's probably the most uncomfortable night I've ever had Down Under," said Andrew Jefferson of Ballarat, west of Melbourne, who emigrated from Britain in 2001.

Thousands of homes were without power as electricity companies' equipment failed in the heat. The city was also hit by hundreds of train cancellations on Monday, enraging commuters.

Meteorologists said earlier this month that the last decade was the hottest on record in Australia.

I would honestly rather the cold we are having over extreme heat like that. No thanks. I love the heat but that is just waaaay too much. In the cold you can crank the heat, light a fire and put on extra clothing, in heat like that you can get naked and you would still be uncomfortable. Ick.

Cold, people???

30 and 40 below is cold, not THIS wussy 18 below??

Cold is 30 below for a MONTH, not so many years ago. Water mains popping all over town. Haven't heard of that much lately.
