Call and make sure you are not on a contract. Even if you think you're not you may be. You may also have to give 30 days notice to be disconnected or have to pay a termination fee. Also see if they give you a confirmation number that says you will be disconnected and when.

Well, I made the call to disconnect, and I never felt so embarrished in my life.
I felt like I was in front of the Judge.LOL
You give them the reason why you want to disconnect ,and then they give you a 3rd degree.
I had to yell at the guy in India to just cancel 3 times before he understood what disconnect meant.
He wanted to re-negotiate my service.

What a bunch of B.S.

Anyway I feel better now,and I`m looking forward to my next provider, who by the way gave me an offer I could not refuse.

Have great day.

Bell charged me 80 dollars when I called in for repair on my line.. I guess when they switched me person to person I was charged long distance.

Thanks for the Tip,

I will follow up on that right away.

You know I never realized, that I could get my fone for 40$ a month somewhere else while bell charged me 73$.

Yes I feel free now.

I have a local Rep.to call anytime from now on.

Great.

If you were switching to shaw, you could of gotten them to call for you and you could of let you same phone number :) They will call bell disconnect and buy the number from them so you dont have to change your phone number. But you already canceled so it does not matter now..lol

My home bell line is about 46 a month. My Long disatnce is a flat rate unlimited North America 21.95 a month.
My biz line is 54 a month.

I don't use Shaw because they are missing a key feature on thier business lines.

The sloppy way Bell works, I'd be wondering. Did you get an order number?? Did you get the employees number?? Did you get a cut-off date??

Don't forget to CLOSELY check your final bill, and after you get it, I suggest you contact them AGAIN just make sure it IS the last, AND get the employee number then, too!!!

Yes I am switching to Shaw.

Shaw will contact Bell for the Phone switch, but they adviced me to cancel Internet and TV myself ,so I could give them 30 day notice.

If no 30 day is given they can Bill you for disconnect.

I cant wait for March5th. Just for the first year I`ll safe $400 on promotions. Now thats a deal I could not refuse.

Sooboy, I'm sure you won't be sorry, we did the same thing a year and a half ago. Be prepared, though, this will NOT be your last contact with Bell. They hounded us mercilessly by phone, to come back, why did we leave, blah, blah, blah...for months.

I changed my number when I switched to Shaw so Bell would not call me and bug me. That was two years ago and I think I have received about 30 letters in the mail from Bell since then, offering me promotions. They don't have their name on the return address portion of the envelope, probably to try and trick me to read their stupid letters but they always spell my first name wrong so I know it is from Bell.

What key feature? Multi-line hunting is here now.
