or brio chinotto it's an italian pop, u can get it at pino's
i think the canada dry has it written right on the box "now contains quinine" lol

I am really glad I read this, My husband who suffered from leg craps as a kid was perscribed quinine and is now highly allergic to it. so thanks Kitty and mimi for the advice about the canada dry water

Ok Now yous are going to laugh at me.. My mom swears by this.. take a bar of I think its Ivory and put it between the bed sheets at the end of the bed and I have no clue why, but she says it takes the cramps away.. I remember I laughed really hard at her when she said it.. and it has to be a new bar.. once its been open a while it loses effectiveness.

Now so I do not look like a total retard(pardon the word no pun intended) I googled it on snopes... LOL

See here it is undetermined.

try also going to the health food store and asking there
i remember about 12 yrs ago i was getting leg cramps, then shortly after i was diagnosed with low thyroid
havent gotten them since
so anyway i would check country way, they'll help
i thought magnesium was good for leg cramps?
i know potassium is, but i think u want to get that thru food (bananas, kiwi etc)

icecapp, check club soda ingredients too, allthe ingredients in those waters, there's another brand that contains quinine, so be careful

Bananas, unless it's sciatic in nature, then see a chiropractor. When it's sciatic, I ache from my hips to ankles, those old "growing pains" were only in my shins. Also may want to try a good, stiff massage to the instep of the foot, just about where it meets the heel. That works for me with the whole leg cramps, there is a pressure point there. Works when pregnant, too, for the leg aches.

I used to have leg cramps all the time. My Dr. told me I wasn't taking enough calcium. So now I take 3 a day and no more leg cramps.

Also, if you are just generally uncomfortable and prone to 'charley horses' all over it is a sign of acidosis. The main thing to cut out is orange juice. If you're taking calcium for leg cramps it should be chelated, contain no citric acid and have almost 50% magnesium. And no, I'm no expert - I've been there and that is what I have been told.

i looked up quinine for leg cramps and found this article. just thought that the negative should also be looked at, regarding quinine. I will probably mention it to my motherinlaw, but will suggest she ask her doctor about it first. she has no history of heart problems and in her 70's shouldnt be concerned about birth defects or pregnancies. lol so its good to know it could help, and also important to know, it could be risky to some.
