No kidding. I wonder how they would feel if those two goals end up screwing them over. Every single goal counts. This is another reason why Canada has an advantage. Brodeur-Luongo-Fleury is a pretty scary line up.

That's a bit of a stretch. Yes, the Canadian team is not gelling as quickly as they would like; but that isn't all that surprising due to the fact there are so many superstars on the team.

Let's not downplay the significance of the Swiss taking Canada to a shootout. There will be repercussions from that game; the only question is will those repercussions affect Canada in a positive or negative way.

I tend to think the Swiss game has awaken the 'sleeping giant'. I fully expect Canada to come out fast and hard against the US tonight. They will also have a snarl in their game, which was noticeably absent in the first two contests.

I still give Canada the Gold, slightly over the Russians.

The issue isn't that there is an extra game, it's that you now have to go through the Russians to even get to a possible medal game. I don't think anyone foresaw a Canada-Russia tilt so early in the elimination round.

6 of the Russian players were out till 6am the day before.
They found their way to an after hours party and sacrificed any chance of a top performance.

Gold again, but this could be the end

and here

Depending on your perspective on such things, Thursday night's Canada-U.S. gold medal women's hockey game is either a much-anticipated powerhouse battle, or the merciful end to a farcical tournament that has no business in the Olympics.

The detractors have some convincing numbers in their favour. Start with 86-4. The first number is the combined number of goals Canada and the United States have scored as each romped through the Olympic tournament undefeated. The second number is the combined amount of goals the gold-medal contenders have allowed. In other words, the talent pool is a little on the shallow side. It's more of a talent puddle. Or a talent accidental spill.

You could certainly use Ryan Miller in goal. Your goaltending was very average.

But that's common for hockey powers in decline.

....you miss the game?
Ha, ha, ha...perhaps what you call average, yet good enough to beat an average team, with a good goalie.
You lost and we're in decline?
There is some consolation, the USA were the best losers!

This is what you call sore loser at it's finest! USA lost and there's nothing more to say. LMAO

We won gold but are on a decline. An impossible statement. I am sure Wolfie can come up with some proof that we were at a higher level than gold so that we could show a decline? How much better than gold were we before Wolfie?

The US players can hold their heads up high, they played a very good series.
Of course without all of that gold hanging around their necks, holding their heads up is going to be easy.
