how would i work this

i have starchoice satalite, and on channel 911 it's oldy/goody 70', 80' musice. ok how can i record off my tv on to a disc, and have the disk mp3 so i can play them through my pc. is it possible to rip music like this?,thx

do you have a headphone jack on the television? You could run a wire from theis jack to themicrophone jack of your sound card and record wav and convert the files to mp3.
If you had a dvd player/recorder or home theatre setup you could do it from them I guess.
