6 Cups apples-(5-6 lg. peeled, cored, sliced)
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup white flour
1/4 cup margarine
1/2 cup quick cooking oats
Preheat oven to 375
In large bowl, combine apples, 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon. Turn into a 1.5 litre greased casserole dish; set aside
In medium bowl, combine flour and remaining 1/4 cup sugar cut in margarine with pastry knife until mixture is size of coarse crumbs. Stir in oats. With hands, gently squeeze mixture to form crumbs; sprinkle over apples.
Bake uncovered 45-50 minutes or until top is golden.

Been making it for years.......yummy!

i use the same recipe almost but i don't use white sugar, just brown sugar and i double the crumb recipe, sprinkle my crumb and oatmeal mixture over the apples and the press it somewhat gently because i like my crust thicker and more solid. it's good warm with a bit of milk poured on it.
