K, I got this boil thing between my legs, got it from chaffing in the humidity I think. Problem is that it hurts every time I walk, not tones, but annoyingly so. It's hard to tell for sure, but I think there is a white spot on it.
My question:
Should I pop it and squeeze the core out, or apply something to it, or leave it?
Thanks for your ideas.

soak in the tub...then squeeze when it is soft - much easier on your pain threshold

naw I just put a warm cloth on it, got drunk to numb the pain and did it.... GAWD it still hurt, I think the neighbors thought I was torturing a cat....

Next time just man up and squeeze it. You usually like pain and the fact you are getting soft on the pain thing is scaring me:winkm:

it's healing now. I couldn't pop it completely, I'd need a scalpel, the core was the size of a ping pong ball....

puttin a slice of onion on it(gross, i know) helps it open up, drain and kills some of the infection.

Sounds like you need to see a doctor about this. I had a friend once that had a bad boil and had to have it removed and then packed. You really have to be careful when popping those, infection can spread throughout your body.

I agree. They usually come back. I know someone that had this and they had to have it removed by a surgeon. They had made it spread by squeezing it.

oh, I got this fixed a while ago, I called the tele-health line, and because I'm diabetic, they recommended I see a doctor just because of the risk of infection. When I told her where it was, and asked if there is anything I could try to do first she told me since it is broken, soak it in a tub for 15 min a few times a day, pat it dry, apply some Polysporin and cover it with a 4 x 4 inch gauze every day till it goes away. She told me if I don't notice any difference in a day or if it gets worse to suck it up and see a doctor. But thankfully it cleared up... I'm a little bashful at times
