I am talking about soonews.ca. Every video I hear plays really well on my computer......except soonews......it stops and starts all the time. Now I don't listen anymore. Any other videos on that site plays really well. Like U Tube .

I don't matter where I go to play videos I have no trouble. But I am tired of stopping and starting. I have even refreshed it and it makes no difference.

Sorry, I have no answer for you, from other feedback I get the videos play fine. Except for those on low speed ....the videos are encoded to play for light speed and up so I really don't know what the problem is. The only time I have problems with the video is when my connection is wonky , other than that they play fine. But I will let our tech people know about it...

I don't know but my highspeed is all over th place at home just lately - on Shaw - last night I did a speedtest and went from 0.18 mbs to 3.85 later on...which still isn't that good in my opinion....

Craig if it is shaw it does it all the time. All other videos at any other sites play well. But you can't listen to a conversation when it is stopping and starting. But when you put one up from U Tube...everything playes perfectly.....so I watch them.

I hear your frustration Gram, I'm the same way, I won't watch a video if its of poor quality or if it won't play. What I'm saying is I hear it from both ends, some say they don't play, others say it plays fine and the quality is excellent. We'll try to come up with a new system as ou new tv season kicks off shortly and we want everyone to be able to watch them. Including the live broadcasts !

Soonews videos work fine for me but I don't watch them because the low quality (full screen) not HD

Craig Huckerby

low quality? or because they don't interest you? because quality wise they are very high.

Are you telling me those videos are High Definition ?

Craig Huckerby

nope, I didn't say anything about High Def, I was talking of the overall quality of the picture that is encoded for our video player. Though you can go fullscreen with our videos, they are encoded for the player that appears on the page.

I wish, we would have to replace all the equipment we use , can't be high def for one camera and go back to regular def on the next shot....there's a fair amount of equipment involved in a studio environment.

You're not making Hollywood movies here ....you don't need 10 cameras and a crew of 15 to shoot a simple video.

I know we're not, but it still requires more than one camera to do the stuff we do.

we do our best....right now my issue is making sure the video we have plays, let alone a huge file like high def would be....one day though...
