A heads up for anyone running an F150 with the 4.6L 3valve engine.
If you get your oil changes done at the more northerly Ford dealer your motor
is being overfilled by 1 litre. I pointed out there was a problem after the 1st change,
after the 2nd change it was decided the dipstick was "'reading wrong" so the tube and dipstick were replaced. 3rd change and again overfilled. Evidently the manuals the techs use call out 7 litres instead of 6. Stopped at the other dealer and low and behold they know the 4.6l 3V should get 6 litres. Done with dealer #1 for both my Ford vehicles.

But a Chevy might just kill you.

One liter more. Hmmmm. A waste of money, I suppose, but no damage will be done.

Think about it. Five litres in the pan. Add one more and the level might come up 1/4 inch.

That won't affect your engine.

I had a lady come in to the shop who had put TWICE as much oil in as needed. No damage, just drained it out.
