anybody know of a dealer in town? if so where......

and how good of a lens are they.. looking to use on my nikon.

Which one are you looking for? I have the 70-200mm f/2.8 EX and am happy with it. Had it about 5 years now.

Glass is about as good, but you'll find the focus system a bit slower I think. Both Sigma and Tamron make excellent lenses. If I was looking for one I'd check online at Henry's. I know Future Shop carries a few, but might as well buy online - probably cheaper.

I have a nikon 55-200mm I believe it is, but id just like a little more close up, and nikons so expensive thats why I was thinking of going to offshore brand, and have heard good things about sigma, and tamaron both, I just leary buying lenses online in fear of them breaking, or not working...
