Since Limewire shut down, I've been trying to download Frostwire for Mac. Each time I've tried to do it in the past month, the installation ends in a "fatal error", and won't finish. Any clues about this, or tips?

frostwire was made for windows. since it is opensource all kinks may not be worked out for the mac version. also make sure you delete limewire. they use the same coding, so there is possibility of corruption

I don't understand the whole limewire is shut down thing. I was on there yesterday downloading songs. Someone please explain? I suppose I should pay more attention when "illegally" downloading things lol.

Limewire was shut down. Frostwire is Limewire in disguise, so to speak. The whole "illegal" thing is up in the air. If you own a copy of the song/movie/game or what not, it isn't illegal to DOWNLOAD it. With Frostwire, it also uploads what you have. This makes that illegal.

Also, downloading any material that you did not pay for is illegal. Companies release these material with intent of people purchasing it. Anything else is theft.

Well, then I'm a thief. I'm not really interested in buying entire cd's from artists who only have one song that I like. I like the song "Telephone", by Lady Gaga, but I am most certainly not interested in a whole Gaga cd. I supposed I could spend the $1.29 and buy it on iTunes, but I choose not to. I'll take the judgment.

Me too. I am not absolved from downloading mp3's. I make up for the costs in the extra levy I spend on blank cd's. That's what it's there for.

Its a sticky subject based on a law and a technology that still hasnt finished evolving yet ... soon all entertainment
will just stream to your computer. Music movies television and telephone ... what system you use ipod ipad laptop
or desktop will be your choice, you will just need to subscribe to the service.
