How didn't Nike, CCM, Bauer and the other countless skate companies not come up with this?

Good question. You would think someone in their R&D departments would have bounced this around.

The idea has been around for years.
It's just another version of the same old thing.
I used the first ones in the 70's.
Somebody will get it right!

In other news, The Toronto Maple Leafs head coach, Ron Wilson, has credited his team's recent success to recent technological advances of their own.

Not even close.

You're thinking of the old CCM skateguards.

Get out the seventies, Jack.

LSSU is leading the way!

Your an American...I understand!
One, you put on over the skate held in place with straps and the other you put on over the skate held in place with straps!
I see the problem!

Jack...I'm in my early 40's and know what you are talking about!!! No offense but I assume you are older than I.

No offense taken and yes 54 this year!
....I should have kept them!!!
They in no way were as advanced as the newer version.
Now that I think of it, you could get added protection using an insert that went inside the skate.
It helped protect the heel and the balls of the ankle.
It also helped fill a big skate as there wasn't enough money around to get skates ever year!
They also added support to a pair of hand me down skates, which was common in the 60's!

Jack can you tell us about the invention of ice too?
