After the Red Wings woeful performance against Nashville last night, Uncle Mike (a name we fellow Wings fanatics call the coach) promised a 'bag skate' this morning. The gloves are coming off.

His words to describe last night: "awful"; "embarrassing".

One goal against Nashville, and that from Ruslan Salei. Shutout by Nashville earier, and Columbus. A win against the Rangers, but they gave up 46 shots, which is VERY un-Wing-like.

Seems the Wings have reached a fork in the road as far as this season is concerned, and better decide just what type of team they are within the next few weeks.

“It’s absolutely unacceptable to compete like we did. You’re not going to be successful in any walk of life working that hard. It’s beyond ridiculous. If we’re not going to work in games you can bet we’ll work in practice,” Babcock added. “We’re going to get some work ethic back because there’s no way we’re going to have 22,000 people watching us play like this. That’s absolutely unacceptable.”

I remember back in the days of Scotty Bowman, you could be sure, this time of year he would go on a rampage.
Healthy scratches left and right...I think he actually sent guys home to think about it at one point.
All in an effort to be ready for the playoffs, before the playoffs start...everyone has to be totally committed!
I really like Babcock. He could coach my team any day!

I like him, too. I just hope he hasn't worn out his welcome with most of the players.
