Well its official - #3.

I had hoped that since we'd not heard anything that this was a drug overdose or something of that variety, appears not.

From the Sault Star link....

Most of his offences weren't as sophisticated. His last appearance in the local courts, in late January, was typical. He was sentenced to 30 days behind bars after pleading guilty to two counts of theft. The previous February he had tried to walk out of the Station Mall Mark's Work Wearhouse with a $150 pair of work boots. In November, he stuffed $60 worth of meat, cheese and an air freshener into his jacket at a local grocery store and was nabbed on his way out.

Weird....what, he didn't want to smell like raw meat and tip them off??

It's pretty unnerving to know that all three murders took place downtown. I live downtown with my four kids. I know none of them were random acts, but it's creepy just the same to know my kids might pass someone on the street capable of committing murder. I know we're all capable of committing murder in the right circumstances, but I'm sure you know catch my drift.

I have in the past argued that the down town core was not as some thought a horrible place. No longer. We have had drug busts right in our back yards(figuratively speaking) and coming home to-day I was greeted by three squad cars, six officers with a white GMC van stopped two doors down. It seems all the murders have been within a block or two of our house and with grand kids flitting around I am starting to be concerned. Granted we don't live the lifestyle but if you are caught in a cross fire it won't make a particle bit of difference.

The cops can name each and every person or at least a good portion of those involved in the local drug trade. That and a buck fifty will get you a cup of coffee at Timmie's. Until the courts stop caring about the bloody criminals and lean toward protecting us and BACKING the local cops what in hell good is picking the criminals up? Yep - I'll agree with anapeg too. There needs to be more deterrent in place. Its pretty when you can search a name on the local news website and get upwards of 8 or 10 different times that that person has been in trouble. It says something about our judicial system (IMHO).

I can't help but agree but I believe it is worse here. There are a few bleeding heart states but unlike some, Texas is putting in an express lane for convicts and I for one applaud them. Rarely will a post such as this run without some one decrying the poor murdered individual or his poor poor family. To hell with them how about the poor law abiding citizen who is trying to thrive if not simply survive in the same city. It is time for our judges to begin growing a back bone and standing up for the "average" citizen and throw the garbage where it belongs. Unless of course DQ wants to do a twenty year study as to why some waste of flesh took to drugs and crime instead of working for a living. Sorry DQ I couldn't resist.

To-day class we will see how a person can get started down the wrong road.

http://www.soonews.ca/viewarticle.php?id=29970

Because people say things like but he is only a child, or but he has a troubled back ground so on and so forth. There was a time when Dad would step in SMACK the little bugger and everyone would move on with their lives. I don't recall nearly as many "older" children misbehaving in the local funny papers then. When there is no retribution there is no control. They have to learn if you hit me, my wife, or my kids, you're getting it back in spades family or not. Time out and/or a stern talking won't cut it here. Hard to tell right now but with the little info given he will likely be the one left standing in a scenario such as this thread mirrors.

Parents are afraid to parent.

It all started because someone with an education said hitting little Johny when he did wrong simply reinforced his belief that he was bad. Johny is not bad but what Johny did was. BULL! When Johny screws up a quick soft smack on the rear became a reminder that someone did not appreciate Johny smacking his little sister or swearing at auntie. Respect comes when one person acknowledges another persons ability to make their life less pleasant. So to have a pleasant life you do what the person in command says and all sails along quite smoothly. Each and every action has an equal and immediate reaction, and not all are pleasant.

Many parents are just too busy to parent....they expect the school system to do that. The day that one parent left the home to work was the day the downfall of the family unit started. In this economy it is tough,I know, not to have 2 incomes...but...there is a family price to pay.

I have to say that I partially agree with you on this one. The problem with physically reprimanding a child is that a lot of people have taken it too far and it has turned into abuse. Also it sometime makes it hard to draw the line between abuse and a good old fashioned spanking. It is especially difficult in this day and age of lawsuits and politcal correctness. I totally agree that respect comes when one person acknowledges the others ability to make their life less pleasant but I feel that this can be done without physical contact. When I was a kid and I misbehaved, my parents would send me to my room for a few hours and I didn't have a phone, tv, xbox, computer, etc. When I was allowed to come out I would think twice before behaving that way again. The trouble with a lot of parents these days is that they buy theirs kids all the toys -cell phone, xbox, laptop, tv and when they send them to their room and/or ground them, they're usually still allowed access to all the toys. You might as well tell your kid you're giving them a few hours of unrestricted play time.

If you are piloting a full size vehicle it sure does take up a complete lane. With most drivers not planning any further ahead with their driving than their hood ornament it makes navigating through there an experience at heavy traffic intervals.

BAD KITTY!

New title; Official attack cat of Soonet.

I think you took it the wrong way. I actually didn't realize it until the letters screamed it out. With your lack of respect for the deceased, we should rename anadisrepectfulpeg. He had a troubled background. Poor guy :(

A post from someone that seems to have dissappeared said they heard there were more bodies located on the property.

If that is disrespecting, then so be it. Respect is earned not freely given. He did nothing to earn respect from you, me or anyone else. If the truth be known, I am holding back so as to not offend. If you like I can fire a broadside, take a one month forced sabbatical then renew acquaintances when I am allowed back? I feel remorse for those left behind but that is the best I can do.

Well there are two police cars there as well as a big bus-like thing... didn't catch the name on the side of it.

Wonder why they're still there?
