the really obnoxious poster on Local 2 that comments on a lot of the news stories. One comment was particularly disturbing where he used a very derogatory "N" word that I will not repeat. I am surprised most of his posts have not been deleted.

And yes I did flag his comments as inappropriate before anyone says I should do that.

I'm not really liking that part of the new site.
The site itself is ok, but the comment section, not so much

I don't understand why some people have a problem with the comments section? It's basically the same thing we had before?

It is the "basically" part that stymy's some of us Craig. It isn't conducive to an open flowing dialog as before. I know, I know, but the topics you choose and what is on the minds of others differs, even on the open forum that is open, can't remember the name, sorry. Due to extended periods between reply's continuity is lost and so goes the conversation. By the time the person who may have had interest in your post comes on the post has scrolled into oblivion. Perhaps it has more to do with my age and impatience than the site but I find it frustrating as hell.

I gave up on the new site. the BUzz just keeps going away and there is no continuity. Comments made today are gone tomorrow. Maybe I was expecting too much...but they did promise big things. I shall delete my account and keep quiet.

Sorry 7UP but the BUZZ is always there...it's always on the homepage now...and you can find the other day's BUZZ by looking in the news section. I think people just don't like change - they get into a routine and then when it's changed people can't seem to handle it....but basically, in the old forums, people would normally start a thread based on something that was posted - not always - but mostly - so that's they only thing that's changed.... Our viewers told us that it would be nice to make a comment on the actual article, that's all we've done.. we made that possible. I know new things take a while to catch on and this will too...

I agree with cybolynx. It is not the comments section that is turning me off, it's the material that is being posted there...if someone posted a comment like those on soonet I am almost positive that they would be deleted. I was just wondering if Local 2 does the same thing with offensive, racist posts in their comment section.

Yes we do, however the guy posts in the middle of the night so we don't see them until the morning. Then we ban the user.

So true! Remember when Soonet changed back when, nobody seemed to happy, yet here we are....nobody complains about it now.

It's change people, everything changes, we just have to change with it.

It's different Craig, taking some getting used to but I'll get there yet. I look at change as learning something different, new, sometimes it's even exciting. Change from the norm.
