This is becoming a habit...

"The U.S. Men's National Under-18 Team topped Sweden in overtime, 4-3, here tonight to win the gold medal at the 2011 International Ice Hockey Federation World Men's U18 Championship. Connor Murphy (Dublin, Ohio) had two goals, including the game-winner at 6:06 of the overtime period, and added an assist, as Team USA captured its third straight gold medal in the tournament."

While I could care less about spectator sports I just felt the need to post here for some reason. Have a happy day RWGR :)

Considering the usa was the only "team" there, that's not that big a deal.
The Ivan Hlinka tournament in August is a far better judge.
There is still lots of players on all teams that are still playing in the offs!

A lot of Americans are still in certain playoffs, too.

Envy is ugly...in all its forms.

Envy...hardly!
Your team played together, as a team, all year. No other country does that.
The rest of the countries threw it together in a couple of weeks.
I'll take our results any day!
Hay...a win is a win...kinda the booby prize foe U-18 teams, congratulations.
You have to remember it has to equate to success in the WJHC!
That being said, I don't think the '93s are one of our best crops!

Is that true Jack? If so, I would expect them to win. That is definitely a huge advantage.

Yuppers!
That's why The Ivan Hlinka tournament is the better judge of talent. If you notice the champions are different.
Being in August it doesn't allow a team to play a full season together before the tourney.

Like I said, this is the one that counts.
This is the tournament that is the true indicator of talent.
....that's all she wrote....it's good to be KING!

Scott Laughton broke a 1-1 tie with the game-winner late in the second period and Brendan Gaunce had a goal and an assist as Canada won gold for the fourth year in a row and avenged its lone loss with a win over the Swedes.

The flood gates have opened. With gold on the rise, Canada will be a rich country this year.
