I am trying to connect my laptop to my PS3 via bluetooth or a wireless connection. My PS3 sees my laptop, but when I try to connect to it it says: "Access to the media server is not allowed. Is is possible that the system name for this PS3 system, "PS3-401", has not been registered. Check the setings for the media server."

Any ideas or suggestions? I can use my laptop keyboard on the PS3 and can use the PS3 on my laptop. Not sure why this won't work.

open windows media player, then media sharing, then check to allow the ps3 to share media. the ps3 shows up as unknown device.

Ugh. Was hoping to use iTunes. Is that the way to do it with Windows 7?

ur best bet is to use PS3 media server just google it and download it very easy to set up just add the folders that u want to add and make sure media serving is enabled on the ps3 and start up media server and the PS3 automatically recognizes it and scroll on the XMB to music, movies or pictures i have been using it for 2 years now will play almost every file type
