I was wondering if anyone had a code scanner to read abs codes that I might be able to borrow for a couple of mins so I would be able to find out why my abs light keeps going on and off.

I have that occurring also - I followed the wiring down to each wheel and wiggled the connector that goes to the sensor - discovered that I could make the warning light come and go with the left front wheel sensor - Whenever i get that warning I play with the connector and it goes away.

It doesn't happen very often so I am living with it for now.

my light comes on and will stay on for awhile then goes out for a little bit. Sometimes it flashes. Also when slow down even on dry road at slow speed the abs kicks in makeing stop longer

Depending on the vehicle you may be able to pull codes and not need a scanner. I know Dodge & Chrysler is like that.

01 gmc. Also found out there was a recall on this problem so I will take it to dealer and try to have them fix it with no charge to me.

My 00 GM has the anti lock warning on because of a defective anti lock motor. It's located in the middle of the truck and apparently the wires are diminutive and prone to breakage. $300.00 for repair so I have standard breaks now.

If your battery is low in its charge the light will come on. Check to see the battery is charging properly.

Was just doing the same on a dodge, turned out to be the abs sensor in the diff.. but i think for your truck the abs sensor is a few dollars less than a whole new hub

i am giong to have them take a look at it and do what they have to. If it is the motor i will keep my regular brakes and do without abs

Well I did take it in to the dealer and they did fix the one sensor. Now I am still having the other sensor trip the light but it is an aftermarket bearing and sensor which I had repalced less the a year ago. So I guess I need to get that one done again..

Go see Glen at Bridge Auto on Bruce in same lot as license agency. Not likely to charge you anything for a read.
