Its hard to believe that the THIRD LINE extension is still not ready to go. The same thing with the new Market Street extension in the east end. Is this city taking on more construction jobs than it can handle?

This blog addresses the Third Line project (looks like they planned to be open in September...so, any day now???), but it brings up a good point about the condition of Peoples Road. It is like driving on the surface of the moon.

Yes...agreed.....Peoples Road is a disgrace.....and a safety issue...the lanes are too narrow.

You are right yet again! The lanes are eight and a half feet wide which coincides exactly with the legal width of a truck. Peoples Rd is a truck route. Try keeping eight and a half feet of truck in your eight and a half foot lane while bouncing around on the haphazardly sloped joke.

They would have been done 3rd line in june. but they are posponing it because the companie would have had no more big contracts when they were finished.

So 2ne1...is this costing us taxpayers additional money? Is this a fact? IF SO...it sure needs investigating.

I would have to believe the job went *cost plus* when it had to be reopened due to a short sighted planning dept.

http://blog.rogersbroadcasting.com/q104news/2011/07/19/despite-unforeseen-circumstances-third-line-extension-still-expected-to-open-in-september/ Whoops, that was the blog I meant to post the link to. Glad some of you agree about People's Road. The lanes are wayyyy too narrow, especially in the winter. People try to make it four lanes when there is really only 1.5 lanes on each side.

does anyone know if the city is going to block off McNabb before the tracks, when the extension is open?

Anapeg

No the extension is an addition to not a street unto itself. There will be a dumb ass curve and a light.

Will we live to see it actually open or is this another "not in my lifetime" event?

It is a long time coming is it not? All construction seems protracted any more. Perhaps the city has removed the penalty/bonus system of contracts.

He had to tell you twice because you didn't listen the first time?

PUC is about finished the main water through this area. Nothing to do with the construction company. Call the city and PUC they will tell you the same thing.
