It doesn't work like that, I don't think you can join the league as there are no drafts.
Find someone that plays on a team at the level or age you play at.
Get out and play with them and show your stuff.
Aside from that, maybe a note on the bulletin boards in the rinks.
Hockey can be a little clicky, so it helps if you know someone.
Good Luck!

It's a little late to join a league now. If you're looking for a skate/ practice talk to friends like Jack said. If you're looking for summer ice, talk to people around The John Rhodes for contacts.

Hmm sounds like this could be complicated.. There's about 4 of us that are looking to play and none of my friends play so that's an option that's out. (also not looking for anything until early fall)

Thanks for the info!

All I can recommend is going to the rinks and finding out when they play. (talk to available staff like the Zamboni drivers) It might be the best way to make the necessary contacts to get your foot in the door. What age group are you and your friends trying to team up with?

We're 23-26 and don't really care what age group we play with.

So, that would be considered open or +19.

For the +35 league you have to be 35.

That's for the City Mens League. There are other league that might have different rules.

What was the last competitive hockey you played?
