The headline read Costco keeps selling treats from China despite dog deaths. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/costco-keeps-selling-treats-from-china-despite-dog-death-1.2667856

"Costco is under fire from dog lovers for continuing to sell pet jerky treats from China, despite being warned by an owner whose veterinarian believes treats purchased there killed her Yorkshire terrier puppy"

The sale of the product is not limited to Costco and the problem seems to have been around for a while - http://www.poisonedpets.com/nasty-treats-from-china-associated-with-severe-illness-in-dogs-again/

People will continue to buy the products because they are cheap and many don't even think to read packaging. It is up to the pet owners to not buy the products, if the companies make money on the sales, they will continue to sell it regardless of concerns. Costco is a favourite amongst penny pinchers who need to buy big and save a little. They have had many human food recalls in recent times that at some point their customers need to start paying attention.

Cheap pet owners need to be more vigilant about what they buy for their pets and realize that natural treats are likely cheaper from the local butcher shop.
