There's like a month and a half left, he's got lots of opportunity to screw it up again...
that being said, if he does get re-elected, it will change little. As it stands he has no real power, that will continue.

I just find it terrifying that he could be in second place in the polls, given everything we know.

It will take a long time to improve Toronto's image in the world, whether he gets back in or not. The average voter in Toronto looks like a turnip right now.

agreed. People seem to think because he did a little stint in a recovery facility that he must be all better now.

The incumbent always gets a nice uptick in support days before an election, as the 'undecideds' usually break for them by a 2-1 margin.
