View Full Version : Donald Trump bounces into the lead

Hans
07-25-2016, 06:21 AM
Donald Trump comes out of his convention ahead of Hillary Clinton in the race for the White House, topping her 44% to 39% in a four-way matchup including Gary Johnson (9%) and Jill Stein (3%) and by three points in a two-way head-to-head, 48% to 45%. That latter finding represents a 6-point convention bounce for Trump, which are traditionally measured in two-way matchups.

There hasn't been a significant post-convention bounce in CNN's polling since 2000. That year Al Gore and George W. Bush both boosted their numbers by an identical 8 points post-convention before ultimately battling all the way to the Supreme Court.

The new findings mark Trump's best showing in a CNN/ORC Poll against Clinton since September 2015.

You always have to take polls with a salt of grain, but I do think there is a trend where Trump is gaining in popularity. All the Clinton scandals are starting to wear her campaign and support down.

Dan Rather: "No trying-to-be objective and fair journalist, no citizen who cares about the country and its future can ignore what Donald Trump said today. When he suggested that "The Second Amendment People" can stop Hillary Clinton he crossed a line with dangerous potential. By any objective analysis, this is a new low and unprecedented in the history of American presidential politics. This is no longer about policy, civility, decency or even temperament. This is a direct threat of violence against a political rival. It is not just against the norms of American politics, it raises a serious question of whether it is against the law. If any other citizen had said this about a Presidential candidate, would the Secret Service be investigating?"

Hans

This is all overblown by the media. If you look at what he actually said, it is clear he was not inciting violence. He was simply saying that the second amendment people can stop Hillary (by voting for him).
He has made it clear in the past he is in favor of the second amendment, and he is endorsed by the NRA.

"Let's say he really was warning that Clinton will choose jurists for the Supreme Court who will effectively erase the Second Amendment unless gun rights supporters elect him president on Nov. 8.

Trump suggests '2nd Amendment people' can stop Clinton....

Yes, forget that Trump was talking about what might happen after Nov. 8 if Clinton wins the election "If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don't know." Let's just agree he was talking about getting out the vote on election day."

Seems clear to me.

Stupid at the very least.

Amazing what Trump expects the American people to swallow!!!

The media sheep tend to forget that Trump is where he is because of the trail of disaster left behind by Clinton. You need to remember that some of his votes aren't pro Trump as much as they are anti Clinton. Many American voters have had their fill with the (Clinton carbon copy) type politician and are pushing back by supporting Trump. They're tired of the stereo typical politicians who have run their country into the ground while telling them America is still great. Every 4 years they throw their support behind another carbon copy leader who disappoints and leaves them 4 years further behind. They are fed up and they are pushing back.

So the next time you want to do a MSM dump on Trump, ask yourself this.................why is he there and why are they supporting him?

You seem to be under the impression that I support the other loser in this race, Hillary.

I sure don't.

Thinking of either of them in charge of the biggest, baddest country and military in the world is a cross between hilarious and terrifying. And anyone who actually follows the things I believe will see that I hate lies about either side.

The constant attacks on Trump would suggest that. Like you, I would support neither candidate. But I do however look for reasons why Trump has so much support. I have to wonder if this is the beginning of a push back by the people or the cause of this will have a lasting effect on American politics. Only time will tell.
