I'm getting this 7MB connection in a few days. Bell messed up again and it's gonna take longer to get it as it was supposed to be connected by midnight yestarday. Oh well.. got a bunch of discounts cause of thier mistake.

I'll let you know what a speed test runs at sometime next week.

I switched to shaw, as it turned out my line quality was to low to get the 7 meg profile.
So now I am on a 10 meg profile.

From what I understand. They automatically switched me from the 3MB service to the 5MB a couple of years ago. No charge. They will do this again to the 7MB. Still at the price I'm paying on my contract. $29.95.

Why would I switch ?

I wouldn't switch if I were you Andre but we had to cause my girlfriend ordered the DSL LITE... I wasn't impressed to find that out and have to pay $30 in bandwidth usage fees cause I went over my download cap.

On the Shaw website, extreme is 51 bux when not bundled with any other Shaw service. The Nitro is 102 a month

yes I see that Mr Obvious. I was comparing the 7 MB DSL price to the 10 MB Shaw price.

Andre

Ya sorry about that.
I'm switching to another dsl company unless bell renews my contract for the same price, which it doesn't look like they're going to do.

Who knows. Bell folds easier than a wet piece of paper. Mention the word cancel and they will offer you anything under the sun. Wait until Shaw or Rogers gets their phone service here. Half the city will switch in a heartbeat.

Yeah and then after a year they will be switching back. The Digital phone stuff is crap. I have used Rogers digital phone for the last year, and guess what, Bell here I come.

Disconnects, static, incoming calls going to a "fax machine" type noise, and a bunch of other crap.

I have heard similar things from some folks I know that live in Calgary on the Shaw phone service....they also learnt the value of a UPS when they experienced their first power outage....when the power went out their cable/phone service modem went dead and no phone.....so I suggested they purchase a good size UPS to keep that modem powered up so they could at least use the phone for emergencies etc.....

Bell rules, but there is better service in other things from other companies.

according to Bell's customer support "we are experiencing an issue with your order. please rest assured our customer service is working to correct this issue as quickly as possible."

well how can they be working on the issue if thier office is CLOSED!!??!
