The City of Sault Ste. Marie has issued the following news release:

The decision on the City’s motion for tax payment was released today.

Mr. Justice Newbould dismissed the City’s motion on the understanding that Essar Steel Algoma Inc. would commence paying City taxes at a rate of $350,000 per month.

It does not address any outstanding taxes.

The decision made today is being analyzed by the City’s Toronto lawyers and the internal City team. A further update will be provided as more information becomes available.

They will start from whence they ceased, back taxes be damned.

So if I heard the news correctly this morning, a mediator, judge, whomever, told Essar they should skip the back taxes, start paying current ones, but if that seems too heavy a burden, just file for waiver for those, too

WT...F??

It is called the law. Sadly enough, there are no such laws for citizens, only for corporations.

Perhaps this is because corporations run the government?

Technically speaking you and I could run the government, if elected.
You can be Prime Minister.

No, we could not, as those positions are merely there to make us believe we hold some sway in the houses of Parliment. We do not. Corporations do. Those running are more appointed than elected. Same criminals, different faces. As for me as Prime Minister, I am very seldom politically correct. I hold my tongue here as I can have my arse booted off, as some here can attest.

Now to counter your argument: Adolf Hitler was legally elected chancellor of Germany. So it is possible to take control of a complete country and do it your way. Corporations had no control over him.

In other breaking news: Dancingqueen has decided to pay back his Money Mart loam....
I like attention, why don't people make it a big deal when I do something I'm just plainly expected to do....
