If you have access to a truck you can bring it to Green Circle, they have a metal bin at the back, stop at the office and tell them you have a freezer and they will direct you to it.

hp2 is right - I kept the flyer that came with my bill - it states just a working fridge, 10 years old or older. But my dad had his freezer picked up - call puc at 759-6522 or on web at everykilowattcounts.com/roundup . They also give another # 1-877-797-9473.
hope this helps

PUC will plug them in and test them and if they don't work they don't take them.
Lock City might pick it up but will probably cost you around $60. Or call the Scrap guy and he'll recycle it at Traders.

Lock city took my fridge for $25. The cost is to dispose of the Freon. You can't just throw a fridge or freezer in the landfill without first dealing with the freon.
