Organizers estimated that more than 100,000 people attended the rally and march. That number could not be confirmed; police did not give their own estimate. But there appeared to be tens of thousands of people in attendance, and the march stretched along multiple blocks of Pennsylvania Avenue

Retired Air Force Lt. Col. Robert "Buzz" Patterson, speaking from a stage to crowds clad in camouflage, American flag bandanas and Harley Davidson jackets, said he wanted to send three messages.

"Congress, quit playing games with our troops. Terrorists, we will find you and kill you," he said. "And to our troops, we're here for you, and we support you."

Nice guy, he is going to find and kill them all. Let's start with Osama, shall we?

And that story ends...in a whimper.

Ooopsie, Hans, you forgot this part of your story: "About 13 blocks away, nearly 1,000 counterprotesters gathered near the Washington Monument, frequently erupting in chants of "U-S-A" and waving American flags."

Just an innocent oversight, I know.

I did not forget it Speedy, but 1000 versus 100.000 is insignificant.
But it's good to see you finally read a story.

Yes, 1000 is more than 100.000 (or did you mean 100,000?)

It was a day organized for anti-war supporters. The fact there were 1,000 people there supporting the war is significant . And, your "100,000" number is unverified, and no doubt trumped up way over the real number. In fact, your article says "tens of thousands". As such, I think it's pretty safe to say 25,000 were there, tops.

So that makes your 1000 a pathetic 250???

Great support for Bush, I must admit.

It wasn't a rally to support Bush. The fact he got 250 supporters is great. If he got one it's great. It wasn't organized for support of Bush or the war, yet both were supported.

So much support they can't wait to pull out, right?
