View Full Version : Does anyone know if
A photography studio has the right to release a photo of your dog to a magazine without your consent?

Did you sign anything?
I wouldn't think so otherwise. At school they aren't even allowed to snap a pic of your child unless you sign a paper saying it's alright.

Did they take pictures of your dog for you? (like did you pay them?)
They do own the copyrights to the pictures. I think that gives them the rights, but I'm not 100%
Myself if I take pictures, I also have people sign a talent release form.
Nope didn't sign anything. I understand they own the copyrights of the pics that they took of her but i was wondering if they could just go ahead and do this.

Well I think they can...since the newspaper does it without getting you to sign anything. I think the consent might be just you allowing them to take pics of your dog.
You would have to sigh a consent form before someone could submit a picture a magazine. Same thing would apply to a picture of your pet I would think.
