Do you vote based off or what is good for the country/province/state/city, or what is good for you?
and why do you chose to vote based off of this reason as opposed to the other?

I am having a personal debate of this right now, and could uses some perspective from others. Keep in mind right now I am not seeing one choice to be good for both mindsets.
Thanks /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

You can only vote for whats best for you, how would I know whats best for others.

I agree with Grumpy. Although I do tend to think what might be good for the country/province aswell. A huge part of a electorate's platform may be to provide funding to senior's. I am 22 and that would not affect me whatsoever but it may be good for the senior population.

What I mean by that is should I vote for what platform works to my benifits or should I vote for the platform based on what will create a stronger country/province/state/city. I don't nessesaraly mean good for other people but for example for the ecenomical growth of our province which is currently to my understanding quite shabby compared to our other provinces.

Try and pick whats best for you and you alone, but it really doesn't matter as the current party in power has shown you can promise whatever you want because if the people are stupid enough to believe you then they got what they deserved.

This is true, but apparently to have a right to complain I have to vote, so I will go for the lesser of the evils...

I try to incorporate all of the above into my decision making, taking into consideration, the current situation of all of the above at the time of the election and into the near future. Our city has fallen so far behind the curve over time, that I usually weight my municipal and provincial votes heavily in favour of what I think is best for the city. Federally, I tend to weight my vote more for what I determine will be best for the country overall. If the country is stable and the city is progressing, I think that is what will be best for me in the long run anyway.

Of course, not everyone shares my view, so I had to leave the country to find employment in planning and development -not a big market for planning future growth in the Sault ;P
