I have a family member that has gotten a dog from a family in Garden River. They (my family member) would like use an Ojibway name for the dog but we are unable to find a decent English to Ojibway dictionary. Can anybody offer me a way to get the translations I am looking for? If need be I am wiling to go so far as to call the band office tomorrow. However if we could name her tonight that would be great. "Hey You" is getting kinda old. Thanks for any and all help.

Good point Kittie. Here is a short list:
d)paint or painted one
g)any spiritual or godess type name.

She is a female husky mix that looks to have been painted. Beautiful colouration. Thanks for any help.

Hey Fat Boy, this site might be of some help to you (I hope!). The "Diminutives" page has lots of animal words. Good luck!

Not yet - officially but we are leaning heavily to Koda. Seems to fit the little lady. Also a friend that adopted her brother is leaning towards Misun. Any other suggestions? These two seem to be the front runners so far.

Well we like Koda, Mom has a Collie named Koda, very sweet and gentle dog.
