Before I start I have made an apt for my vet to see my dog next friday.
Now she had a small lump on her leg. The size of a dime , it was soft for many years and I was told previously it was a fat thing but to watch it.
The past week I have recently noticed it getting rather large and hard. My dog is constantly licking it so it must be painful for her.
Right now its the size of a golf ball and black.
First thing that went through my mind is cancer.
Has anyone ever found a large lump on their pet that turned out not to be cancer to help ease my mind?

My puppy is now 8 years old and I would hate to lose her.

Maybe it got infected? I don't know, but for sure let us know what the vet says.

I will, shes eating and playing fine which is good.
I have her lying at my feet right now.

Only thing changed recently was us doing the whole flea bomb and drop treatment on the pets as we ended up getting those nasty little buggers. errr. maybe the whole pesticide thing took its tole on her since shes older?

The fact the lump changed colour and is harder means something has changed. It could be infected but needs to be looked at. Might ease your mind more if the vet would see her sooner than next Friday. let us know

Well Sassy went to the vet on friday she is fine its just a large mass that needs to be removed so she is scheduled for surgery nov 23rd.
It's bugging her being on her leg so we are having it removed.
I'm so glad my baby is going to be ok.
