How many people find it annoying now that Speedy is constantly finding faults in the Canadian/Belgium economy and lambasting it all over our BBS?
He is not only doing it for fun anymore, he is getting down right testy and showing signs of anger. Resorting to personal attacks and very demeaning manners.

It's not a coincidence that he's not trying to bad mouth Korea or Australia. Everything he posts is meant to be a personal attack; he knows there is a Belgian and a bunch of Canadians here and no Koreans or Australians. Mark my words, if someone of another nationality showed up he'd be starting in on them too.
I have been trying to educate him, but he refuses to listen. Oh well, I tried.

Look back on the threads that were created. You'll find that 90% of the time Speedy is the instigator with his constant barrage of negative links about Canada. His constant proclamation of "I win" proves to me that he isn't interested in discussion anyway. His goal is to successfully post something negative just for the sake of doing so. Being one who doesn't like to see his home country slammed for no reason, I'm with T-pot on this one.

We all know his personality, and if you can't adapt to it, you had better learn to adapt.
Love him or hate him, he is a Soo-Netter and some of you wouldn't be half a pro-Canadian as you are if he didn't rile you a bit.
Personally, ,I feel like most of you that he appears to be a bit of a jerk, but I can deal with it. Part of me doesn't want him to leave.

I also think speedy gives us alot to think about. yes, maybey he is overly critical when you think about his country verses ours, but instead of looking at his perseived motives, try looking at the things he says and ignore the critisisim he makes, that's what I look at... I think this country could be made so much better.

Speedy works as a teacher. So what he is intelligent in is specifically related to his job. This does not make him smarter, or less intelligent than T-Pot. It just means they both specialize in different areas where one may not intimately know things about the other.
For example...Speedy may be a history teacher. He would be REQUIRED to know a lot about history, and thus if anyone was speaking with him about history they would be at a disadvantage intellectually.
On the other hand, if Speedy was a history teacher, and he was talking to a rocket scientist, or even a car mechanic, and did not know much about that then he would seem intellectually inferior.

Speedy you know very well I am a scientist not a caretaker (or janitor as you'd have it), as for you well I think "teacher" may be stretching it a bit far. I hardly think a dog trainer counts as a teacher. Next you'll be passing your Saturday job as a supermarket shopping trolley collector off as a NASCAR driver.

"Scientist" = perpetual post-doctoral student who doesn't have a chance of ever finding a real job, thus the need to sponge-off of governments and universities in non-descript and dead-end jobs.

Post-docs aren't students. "Post" means after, "doc" refers to doctorate, as in after graduating with a doctorate.
As I understood it you are the student. Although lately you are claiming to be a teacher. Who pays your sallary?
The difference, dear Dave, is that I'm not nearly naive enough to try to tell myself it is not the taxpayers who pay my salary.

I don't mind, though I'd prefer English. I've had a lot of Canadians complain at being lumped in with all North Americans, so I guess I can empathise with that.

Sad how for someone who has such a high regard of himself wimps out when things don't go his way. Speedy is fun. Even 'tho he picks on kids.
The last time we had it out, I got him proving that Americans were too lazy to vote, whereas Canadians were having too much fun drinking beer and hunting moose. Shortly thereafter he started blubbering about leprechauns and dragons /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
Not sure what happened to that post...it was gone the next day, but it was fun.
If you want to win, you have to be a bit more sublte than crying "He's not nice!!!"
