I setup my XBOX 360 Elite today. It came with Silver Xbox Live, do all systems come with Silver? Can you play online with it or do I have to have Gold? Do I need a memory card, or will it use the HDD?

Silver is free, and is included with all systems, and it only allows you to use the XBL Marketplace. Gold is required to play online.
You only need a memory card if you want to bring save files to a friends' place. Your Elite has a 120GB hard drive that is used to save and manage everything.

If your gonna use Xbox Live and would like to get gold where you will have full features aka downloads and playing online... I recommend going to EB or your gamer place to get the card for XBox Live... Or else its Credit Card...

Don't add a credit card to your account for Live. Microsoft is known for NOT taking it off your account when you want to, and I've read some reports of people being charged after apparently 'cancelling' their service, and Microsoft would not refund them.
Other tips, have the toll free number ready for when you've gotta send your console in for repair. /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Don't plan on sending it in for repairs *knocks on wood*. I'll have it in a cooling stand and I always clean my PC and consoles with compressed air often. Other than that, I don't play for long sessions anymore.

Haha, well, best of luck. I know a few people that use the Intercooler cooling system and their systems still died. And compressed air, well, I personally wouldn't take the chance with the 360... I use it on my PS2 & PC though without worry. I have 1 friend whose Elite died after about 10 minutes of playtime, and another whose died after about 10 hours (multiple short sessions)
Don't get me wrong, I sound so negative, yet I love my 360 personally. I just know that an extremely high percentage of the consoles will fail, and I've come to accept that. Sure, I hope it doesn't occur with mine, but it likely will some day.
