What format are they in?

AVI
MPEG

Or original movie like, regular DVD-R.

Go to Canadian Tire, and in the center isle there's a Daytek Dvd Player that supports Divx, Xvid, Mpeg, ect for only.....

$39.99

Also, they have there and futureshop nicer ones that do HDMI and USB for under $100 bucks. (RCA $69.99 in today's flyer)

This way, all you have to do is burn the files... "AS IS" straight to a blank DVD, and your good to go, right out of the box.

If your willing to do the LONG WAY, you can always look for online tuturials at http://www.videohelp.com/convert as well as http://www.dvd-burner.ca/DVD-Tutorials

Or you could download ConvertXtoDvd and change the format before burning them.

That must be an HDMI upconvert from a 480 signal. I have a Panasonic that does that and the HDMI output isn't that great. True HDDVD players are still pretty steep.

I'm gonna be a smartass and say: easiest way is to go out and buy the movie!!! haha

But Divx player is probably the easiest option...conversion is very temperamental and time consuming.

You could also connect your computer to the tv if that is an option. I used to convert all the time, then got a video card with a video out...some long RCA cables, and bingo, instant tv shows and movies right on the tv (uhm...legal tv shows and movies of course).

You can use regular discs. Alot of the movies are only 700 megs anyway. If you use a burning software, and burn to VCD or SVCD you can use a normal CDR disc.

If the image/file is larger then 720 than you can use the DVD burn discs.

Both will work in almost every dvd player.

I just bought a program at Staples called DVD123. It was 29.99, and works good. It converts all sorts of types of files to disk. If I can do it, anyone can!!
