By July, Amnesty International USA had tallied 250 cases in six years in which people died after being stunned with Tasers, but the group didn't track the individual causes of death.

And before you extrapolate total population figures....

http://www.policeone.com/writers/columnists/LaurenceMiller/articles/1195859

Statistics indicate that about six hundred criminals are killed each year by police officers in the United States. Some of these killings are in self-defense, some are accidental, and others are done to prevent harm to citizens. By comparison, about 135 officers are killed in the line of duty each year. When you consider their ratios in the general population, proportionately far more cops are killed by civilians each year than the other way around. In most cases, an officer’s taking a life occurs in the context of trying to save a life.

Aside from tasers, 600 American suspected criminals are killed per year by police. Now that is truly shocking. Our cops use their guns a lot less.....just like our citizens.

Seventeen men have died in Canada shortly after being shocked by police with a taser. In many cases the men also had illegal drugs in their system. In many cases pepper spray or other restraints were used as well as the taser. The taser, an electro-shock weapon, has been in use by police in Canada since 2001. A taser has two settings, a "touch stun" which can be used close up and "probe mode" which fires darts into the person before administering the shock. Both cause pain.

If you read the whole post, the men had illegal drugs in their system which aided the attack.

When illegal drugs are present in the human body, adrenaline rises, heart beats faster and is more prone to heart failure with a simple shock.

Hoe many people a minute get arrested in the US?
How many people get murdered in the US per day?
How many people are currently serving time in jail in the US?

Anybody have the numbers, so we can compare them to the Canadian numbers?

More would have died if a gun was used..........I say good job and keep up the good work.If they don't want to listen I guess 50,000 volts will get their attention.

Been there, done that.

I Listed people in prison/jail/juvey in Canada, compared to just PRISONERS in the US. It wasn't even 1/5th the number.

That is PER CAPITA.

But keep in mind, this post, like the rest posted by the original poster, is just another attempt at negative attention seeking. I don't think he is hugged enough as a child.
