I have a media PC with a HD 2600. When I hook it up to my LCD via HDMI the picture is amazing. Anyone know why the sound isn't going through? HDMI is video and audio correct? And the new ATI's have HD audio to my knowledge.

Sorry, nope. To me there isn't much that is as confusing as the myriad of video and audio connections used for home entertainment. Did you check out soem of the HD videos I linked in Soapbox last night? I wonder how it all compares.

I don't think you will get an audio signal through a DVI output. If using a DVI to HDMI adapter you must run a separate audio line .

The ATI 2000 series cards all have 5.1 surround.

Is this an LCD TV you are hooking up to, or just a PC LCD monitor? HDMI will pass both sound and video to a surround sound receiver that accepts HDMI......what kind of LCD are we talking about here....

Problems been solved awhile ago, forgot to post. ATI has a PDF manual about it. It's my media PC with dual core, 3Gb RAM and an HD 2600. I am using an DVI > HDMI cable to a Samsung 52" LCD with 1080p. The picture is amazing and the sound is good, all on one cable.
