Can anyone recommend a good, quiet PC power supply? I currently have a OCZ 600W GameXstream and find it really loud to sit next to for long periods of time. Any suggestions? Preferably at least 600W.

If you game alot then I would suggest a 700 at least. Xfx has some out to. not very many really bad manufacture's
price of a 700 would be worth it in the long run.jmo

the advantage of a 700 over a 600 wouldnt really do much for him depending on his hardware, his not looking for bigger right now he's looking for quieter

I'm not saying that the one that AmdWolfMan posted isn;t a good one , I have no personal experience with it, I've heard good things about it but cannot personally vouch for it. just wanted to point out that bigger isnt ALWAYS better

I posted about the thermaltake toughpower 650w or 750w as i run the 650w thermaltake toughpower and it is a stable PSU running my system NP's at 2.8ghz and a 8800 GTS 320MB SC OCed to 650/1450/1874, plus 3 HD's and a DVD-ROM unit, plus a Ninja Schythe REV B Heatsink (with 120mm Fan and a 80mm fan), plus 2 120mm case fans, plus a two fan PCI slot card, plus 2GB DDR 500 OCed.
Stable as can be.
Solid PSU.
Quiet PSU as well.
The 750w is just as good, but cost a little bit more.

with all your decices u r running Bartho, you should think of upgrading your psu, i'ld be thinking about it soon. But if your not running into any BSOD or shutdowns, you should be fine

lol, keep adding drives and other hardware you may have to get a bigger psu. I never said anything to you that I thought you would need a anotherpsu. Observation and friendly hoopla.

Yea, you're doing fine with that PSU bartho... i was running a 520w OCZ modstream with my opty and 640mb 8800.
Funny you brought up the Xion psu's Hemi, im actually strongly considering the 800w for my new build.

cool , my 0cz 600 should be good for awhile. should have anuff power for awhile. seems alot of us have 600's. does that mean there are more gamers out there. we have in the past have gotten together to battle in some games. I think you sleepers should come out and speak more about games and tech news .

I would not buy a PSU that sucks as i never have in the past and this PSU no doubt is good for me and even if i add a few more HD's which i do have 3 HD's now, she will handle it fine.
I don't need anymore componets right now.

When I originally bought all the components for my PC it was meant to be something to game on but since then my interest in PC gaming has really declined and I now find myself playing more on my 360.
As far as the PC goes now it's more for typical everyday stuff like d/l, surfing, checking email so I'm sure a 600W will be fine just looking for something that's a little quieter than the current one. It's gotten to the point where if I leave it on I can hear it from my livingroom downstairs.
Just edited to add thanks for the suggestions, currently looking at them and probably going to order one very soon.
