How do you go about changing it from one parent to the other can anybody give info numbers and what do you ask them

I think the parent with it now just has to call and sign a form. It takes a couple of months I think.

Good luck. You may have to argue with them as they want the woman of the house to have it.....don't know why but that's the story they gave us.

I remember when my daughter was born, the nurse gave us all these forms to fill out, to get these benefits.

I laughed and said, it'd be a waste of my time. She said she knew a few families that did work and still benefitted from these.

So I said what the heck, let's try it out. I got a cheque in the amount of $0, and that I was no longer going to receive any other fundings because of the household income.

My brother just went through this with his sons. They told him the check always goes to the mother unless the parents are separated and the child lives with the father full time. If both the mother and father are still living together there is no way that the check can be switched over to the fathers name.
