This is the newest tank that my husband has acquired. He got rid of all his smaller ones and is concentrating on taking care of just one big one. It's filled with 4 Red Tiger Oscars, 2 Albino Tiger Oscars, 2 Jaguars, 2 Jack Dempseys, 4 Red Devils, 1 Armoured Catfish, 1 Striped Raphael Catfish, 3 Synadontis Catfish, 1 large Midas Cichlid, 1 Chinese Algae Eater, 1 Albino Chinese Algae Eater, 12 Ansistrus, 3 Pictus Catfish, 3 Gold Tinfoil Barbs, and 3 Clown Loaches. The plant life is from a guy who custom makes them in California...he does a great job.
Sorry for the quality of the pictures, but there's not a lot of light in our rec-room, and I can't find my camera's manual to change settings!

The dimensions are 7ft long by 30 inches high and 24 inches deep. The pictures don't do it justice, it's quite huge....thanks for the compliment!

I've got a 75 gal and I thing it's overkill for our tetras lmao But that's a beautiful tank! I love the oscars...I want to get one so bad...eat all my stupid tetras and barbs lol
Just remember the Oscars make for a lot of work, they eat lots and fill your tank with poo quite frequently!
I had two of them that were approx. 2lbs. each and was glad to get rid of them as I had to clean the tank every second day.

Big Al's is the greatest store ever. We went to the one in Oakville and Mississauga. Now if only we had one here. The big tank at Penny's is only 120 gal though.

If you order anything from their web site use their American one and have it shipped across the river.I haven't checked lately but when the American money was worth around 10% more than ours they were charging 50%. The thing that got me was that it was all coming from the same warehouse in southern Ontario. When you go over to pick up the order open it up and take out the shipping manifest, that way if they pull you over you won't have to pay ant duty as it'll show it was shipped from Canada.

My husband was lucky enough to have a nice truck to bring it home in...so he didn't have to pay any duty. Manitoulin Transport wanted $340 to ship it to the Soo, so he decided to go and get it himself.
After setting up the tank, it had a leak across the top and he had to get a new one. He didn't want to make another trip to Barrie so he had Guardwine deliver it. It was only $100. He didn't know about Guardwine, or he would have had them deliver it the first place. The manufacturer of the tank paid for the delivery. He hired Penfold Cartage to bring the tank into the house, as it weighs 500 lbs empty!! The guys did a great job.

was it a used tank? is that why it had a leak? or was it new and they replaced it because it had a leak? How much would it cost for a tank that size?

Thanks HOMO!! LOL!
The tank was new. The issue was the water leaking along the very top, where the black strip was. They sent him a tube of caulk to see if caulking the area would work, but it didn't. They sent him a brand new replacement. No more leaks! I'll find out cost for you...

Fish people are a dedicated bunch for sure. So much effort that goes into it, not my bag of chips but it's certainly beautiful to look at. I love the colours and textures.
I've heard time and again that watching fish is relaxing, maybe I should give it a go, but at my house some of the critters sleep with us and I couldn't have something that wet the bed. /ubbthreads/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rofl.gif Sorry but my humour is a bit off.
Lol at loopy!! you can pet my oscars. Not that I like to touch them but my daughter will put her little hand in and they will swim up to it and brush there body on her hand!!! ones about 9 inches long and the other is about 12 inches long. the same as the large fish you see in the front of ew tanks

Loopy- the fish aren't my thing either...like you, I much prefer the furry kind of pets! But my husband loves it, and I know there are some fish lovers on here, that's why I posted. I couldn't tell you the first thing about his tanks!! I just like to look at them.
