Let's play a game: Where in the Soo?
Someone posts a picture, the first person to correctly identify the location then posts a new pic... one at a time, please. Also wait for the poster to confirm you are right before posting your pic.
I'll start us off... Where in the Soo is this?

Re: Let's play a game: Where in the Soo?
It's not a house and not somewhere that anyone lives/stays (or ever did)!
It was built by an old school tradesman, two stories high with double brick walls.

It's a two story double brick garage that is definitely unique.. I've never seen one like it! I remember seeing it way back to when I was a kid when out in the family car driving around in that area.

Re: Let's play a game: Where in the Soo?
i'm gonna let Hemi take the credit for this one....even though I called him at work on my cell phone when I found this gem. After cruising down albert street, wellington street, brown street, andrew, queen west, manilla terrace....it finally caught my eye as i pulled onto alexandra

Re: Let's play a game: Where in the Soo?
I recognized the brick garage as soon as I saw your picture It was built by my grandfather .. Burt Verdoni who was a stone mason as was his own father. I actually helped him with the building of the garage on Alexander although at the time I was only 8 yrs old. The upper portion was used as a workshop, in which, in his own fathers style( he too was a maaster stone mason) he created stone vases and bird bathes arches for windows amongst other things. He also did ornamental stone work using local materials which can be seen on the building next to the Nicolet on Huron St.That house was his sisters at the time.
My grandfather would be happy knowing that his two storey brick garage got your attention today, as am I, and other members of my family that looked in at your pictures. One highlite that we remembered was that we were allowed to use the garage for neighbourhood parties the best being those held on halloweens
Thank you again from myself and my family.I like your idea using the pictures and hope to add one later in the 'contest' and I think I have one that will stump a majority of the vistors to this page... Keep up the good work.. Ray Diotte

Re: Let's play a game: Where in the Soo?
Ok, now trying to find something in the Sault wasn't easy considering I don't usually take pictures around here unless it's of my kids. I usually wait until we head out towards St. Joseph Island lol.
I looked through all and did find a few odd ones that I did take around here.

This was not at a job site, it's at a business in that line of work. Can't miss this if you're driving down the road.
