dancing queen. if he has the mental capacity of an 8 year old, I would like to know, how many 8 year olds do you know that go around molesting kids? ITS NOT NORMAL AND I WOULD BET ANYONE A HUNDRED BUCKS THAT HE KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT HE IS DOING. I know an ex boyfriend of his and from what he told me, he is perfectly aware of what he does.

My little brother actually had simmilar cognitive capasity, he was about 6 mentaly, he thought he knew what was going on around him socialy, and would certanly convince many people that he was fine. Is his ex boyfrien certified to make that kind of statement? espesilly if you are going to wish death to him based off this????

this kid lived below us in one apartment we were in a few years ago. I noticed he was slow and had some issues when I talked with him, didn't think it would go this far, but at the time, if had the mentality of an 8 year old, then some of the things he did and actions seemed pretty adultish to me....I think he is just mentally sick....he seemed aware of most things he did back then....

I noticed I spelt grammar wrong above, but then again, never said I could spell =P (Thanks Microsoft!) hahaha...2 hours of sleep and a baby who has been screaming on and off for 13 hours from a cold kinda takes it's toll.

And I have had a lot of experience with people who have mental disabilities. A lot of them are great people, they may not understand what they are doing, but really, if they have the mental ability of someone much younger, it would be like a child who was molested doing the things they were taught.

But then again, there are of course exceptions to every rule.

I'm really kinda tired now lol, the screen is looking sideways, so I'm off to bed!

I asked my 8 year old nephew when I read that post, if he thinks that touching a girl in the genitals is wrong.

He said Yes it is.

Well... that blows your theory. If my 8 year old nephew can say yes it is wrong, then maybe his mental capacity is younger?

Definitely a danger to society. I feel for all victims who have been harmed by this monster. Lock him up...throw away the key, because clearly he has not learnt his lesson and never will. "Pedofile" is definitely the key to this monster's name, no doubt in my mind!

but I'm sure the parents of this disabled person are completely blameless, as a matter of fact, I bet they are fine outstanding citizens who where justified in just throwing their mentaly disabled child out the door

Can't say that I am just judging Shawn by not knowing him...someone that I know knows this individual and I have communicated with him several times a long while ago, and let me tell you this...it doesn't surprise me that he has committed these horrific crimes. And btw, he only has his mother...doesn't have his father.

In the first place Riverview does not treat pedophiles. Second of all if you are off your rocker.......you are sent somewhere else.

I love these people who think they know so much about Riverview. Especially from other people.They have a total of 16 beds there. Ifthere is no room you have to wait.

Shawn was supposedly living with his mother at Terry Fox Place. He was telling all the teens his name was Shawn SNOW.
He IS guilty, as I am EXTREMELY close to one of the families that were affected by this and this isn't the rumour mill I was hearing. This is first hand info on what was happening over there..
And he also supplied the booze and drugs at the parties he would have to lure the teens in.

Parents ARE keeping tabs on what their kids are doing. Why do you think Shawn was arrested twice last week???

And to the mods...WHY WAS THE PIC REMOVED??

if you wanted a picture it would be on the news, if it is not, then that means for one reason or another it is not legal to have posted. perhaps it is related to his mental illness, but many of you are blind to that... unless it was your child with this mental illness....

I REALIZE that pedophilia in his case isn't a mental health issue. He is mentally impaired, not mentally sick. I was just pointing out that our government is cutting back on all health related problems, including supervised housing for people like him.

I know enough about Riverview BTW for you to make such a comment.

I REALIZE they are lacking in beds, like everywhere else in our hospital. I was just stating that it's pretty sad when they get a suicidal person wanting help, and they get turned away. BTW they fit him in when he actually took a bottle of sleeping pills. This could have been prevented had they taken him seriously. Him being turned away, may have resulted in my friend's death had he not been found by a family member.

I should have said: "being an immediate danger to yourself or someone else while in a mental state" rather than "off your rocker"
