I have no issues with persons with mental disabilities at all, but when they are a danger to society, lock 'em up like you would with someone that declares innocence of a murder due to insanity, etc. I know a couple of the kids personally that have been affected by this monster.

Who the hell in their right mind = "The judge" would allow this guy to be out on the streets. He can be in jail and have his treatments there or whatever he needs done without being a menace to society.

I don't know alot about the law, but why isen't his surety also held accountable.
His lawyer also states that he has the mentality of an 8 year old.

Ontario Court Justice Wayne Cohen was told the matter had taken time to come to court because Dunlop has been undergoing cancer treatment.

Casteration doesn't take the urges away.

This is very disturbing! He should not be on the streets or the courts should have figured away to have him supervised, whether it be a family member or however. The safety of children should come before anything and in this case the courts have failed them on more than one occasion.

Where are the parents of these children? How can you not know, or better still how can your kids not know that where they were was wrong? Were they abducted? No.

Parents need to start accepting responsibility for their children. They are as much to blame as he is.

Apparently he has some cognative disabilities, he should be in a supervised situation. If his disabilites are as discribed by his lawyer - saying he has the mentality of an 8 year old, why is he living alone in an appartment? He should be in a group home or some other form of supervised situation No?

I meant that based on what the lawyers are saying he should Never have been living on his own to begin with.

While I don't condone what he has done, odds are the guy was probably sexually abused as a child himself and with his mental impairments doesn't understand that this is not OK. He should be residing in a group home and under constant supervision, not living on his own.

This is just sickening that it keeps happening again and again.

The problem is: With a person having mental illness, our dear government and laws fail to MAKE people like this live in a supervised location and fails to PAY for them to live there. I can just imagine the cost of having anyone like this supervised 24/7
What happens when the family can't afford to pay for a supervised environment?

These people just go out and offend again. Our government needs to realize the need, and accept the cost of housing such a person, for the protection of the innocent.


The sad thing about mental illness, you have to be totally off your rocker to even get a few days help down at Riverview.

A few years back, a friend of mine felt suicidal, and they turned him away. Only after he DID attempt suicide, did they find a place for him. How's that for our mental health system?

Society should have the right to see pictures of those ppl whom are like this. This way we can be well aware whom is whom and keep our children away from such individuals.

I still think his surety should of reported to police that he was no longer living with them. With the housing situation here, chances are he didn't move out on a whim.
My heart aches for all families involved.

If a person is that mentally disabled that they molest 14 year old girls, and claim that they don't know what they are doing, then they should not have been living on their own in the first place.

If you can't figure out that touching a 14 year old girl is bad, then how can you figure out other day to day livings?

There are criminals out there that don't deserve to breath air anymore.. I don't care what his handicap is. He seemed to know what he was doing when he was touching these kids.

If he ever does go to jail he better hope to hell he goes protective custody because the inmates will eat him alive. I know I've dealt with a couple of these goofs.

Sometimes a mob mentality is a good one if it means getting sick twisted pedophiles off of the streets. The justice system or police won't do anything about it, so someone or something has to.

Everyone says they'd like time alone with him, or that he should be locked up to rot.

I've heard it said herein, that "freedom is ok to diminish if it involves a pedophile". I'm paraphrasing meybe, but the same rules, rights, and freedoms must apply to everyone, or our system will break down.
To post a pic of someone could be incredibly damaging to the life of an innocent party. Is it worth potentially ruining an innocent life or three if you get the guilty ones? Interesting questions, and as our world gets smaller, increasingly more important.

That's why they should just kill him and get it over with. Then the only people that would have to deal with him would be a priest and an undertaker.

My little brother actually had simmilar cognitive capasity, he was about 6 mentaly, he thought he knew what was going on around him socialy, and would certanly convince many people that he was fine. this kid lived below us in one apartment we were in a few years ago. I noticed he was slow and had some issues when I talked with him, didn't think it would go this far, but at the time, if had the mentality of an 8 year old, then some of the things he did and actions seemed pretty adultish to me....I think he is just mentally sick....he seemed aware of most things he did back then....

I noticed I spelt grammar wrong above, but then again, never said I could spell =P (Thanks Microsoft!) hahaha...2 hours of sleep and a baby who has been screaming on and off for 13 hours from a cold kinda takes it's toll.

And I have had a lot of experience with people who have mental disabilities. A lot of them are great people, they may not understand what they are doing, but really, if they have the mental ability of someone much younger, it would be like a child who was molested doing the things they were taught.

But then again, there are of course exceptions to every rule.

I'm really kinda tired now lol, the screen is looking sideways, so I'm off to bed!
