Default Simple gifts that are hard to find....

Anyone that knows me knows that shopping isn't my thing. I hate it for one reason only. I can't stand not being able to find something, even something simple.
For example, my youngest son is into jets and planes. He wants a medium size toy passenger jet for Christmas. So I thought ok that's simple....haha ya right. I've been EVERYWHERE and even had friends from out of town look and I can't find one anywhere.
Another example is boot liners. My boys don't need new boots this year, but I am replacing their liners. NOT one store here or across the river had them. No joke. The only store that may have them is Canadian Tire, but that place is always my absolute last resort. I don't feel like paying 46 dollars for a pair of liners.
Yet last year when I didn't need them, there were boot liners galor!!
Anyone else having these issues with shopping this year?

Sorry you're having such a hard time finding things this year.

I wish I could say I'm in the same boat but I'm not, my son is only 2 yrs old and is into buses, trucks, transports, cars, etc. so he's not really hard to shop for. My daughter is only 6 mths old so we're just buying her a new carseat and getting her ears pierced and a few outfits.
I'm amused by stupid people. It's better than cable and it's FREE!!!

I could be wrong but I thought I seen liners at Walmart.
And for the jet try Aviation World on line, I ordered from there and the gift took only 4 days to go to N.S. from T.O

We thought about going to the hobby shop. I may try that tonight. The only thing is I don't really want a model of one because he wants to play with it type thing. I've checked the Wishbook and didn't see anything. I'm going to find one even it it kills me....lol

Thanks MLSSVCS, I'm going to try there for the liners.

The ones at Walmart were too small for my boys. They only had the young kids and adult men sizes left.

Maybe check out Winner's for the jet plane, they've got tonnes of toys right now, stuff I haven't seen at Walmart or Zeller's. And it's never really crazy in there, I like shopping there for that reason mostly...no crowds! LOL...

I didn't find a jet plane but I did find a plane that carries cars. Its a cargo plane so if he likes playing with those too it might be ideal for him. Its on the toys r us website. I can't remember if they ship COD but I have ordered stuff from them with my credit card and they delivered very fast and everything was in perfect condition.

have you tried marks work warehouse for liners? what about joes sports?

i find that since the soo is small i have to look on the internet for things sometimes. our stores here cant possibly carry everything, so there are times i do a google search and weirs packing for delivery.

No, I haven't checked those stores. I was assuming I could find them at Wal mart or Zellers since it is something so common..lol. I was almost ready to pull my hair out last night. I went across the river to Wal mart and K mart and still couldn't find any. I don't get it..lol

lol..way ahead of you. My mom works there so she already checked. Go figure nothing there!!
Well it looks like I have to buy a new pair of boots for one of my son's now. He has a hole in the back of one boot which was why his feet kept getting wet. Now I only have to find one pair of boot liners. Ha ha watch I won't be able to find a pair of boots his size now...lol.
I'm battling this awful cold which doesn't help matters any, so they had better have what I am looking for tonight....lol

Try this, picture yourself finding them, imagine in your mind you go to a store and Ta da! There they are!
